What you can expect.
Sapphire is full of inspirational subjects, you will experience five days to 7 days of creating art and visiting this relaxed and fascinating local area.

plein air excursions ; the camp backs on to a creek bed which can be dry most of the year but can run when rains come. Away from camp there area many insteresting landscapes, manmade structures and wildlife to see,

On site painting; the shed has been set up for you to draw inspiration from the objects, historical, gemological, still life, and visiting wildlife.

Group tuition and one on one throughout the week

Topics covered will be suited to individuals needs and group interest. Drawing, composition, colour, use of mediums are just some of the topics that could be included. All mediums from waterbased to oils, and pastels.

All meals and food on site by a qualified chef delivering delecious menu..Continental Breakfast, Light Lunches and a Variety of Modern Australian Meals and Dessert, Dietary Requirements are Catered For.Our onsite Chef , Rex has a wealth of experience in the arts and food sector having catering to groupls of people most recently at Binna Burra mountain lodge

( there will be one meal dine out in town at your own expense) a courtesy bus will pick us up so we can enjoy a night out at the famous Rubyvale Pub.

Onsite art guide,
Maria is an experinced artist with over 35years as a professional artist, working in all mediums, she specialises teaching in drawing, pastels, paint mediums. Figurative to abstract. She has worked in many studios, adult learning and highschools. Sapphire art retreat is a place for you to work and experience your art, You can work at your own pace enjoying the inspirational surrounds or alternatively you can take advantage of Maria,s knowledge onsite as art host and teacher. Other art tutors visit the camp, join our newsletter or fill in an expression of interest form for details.
What to bring
Art Materials; Your own paper and supports,brushes,mediums such as oils, watercolours,pastels, canvas and boards and paper can be purchased from the shed if required. Please advise if you want specific materials .
Clothes; The nights are cool and the days are warm so bring sun protection, hats, sunscreen. Layers are good. Warm clothes for night.
Good enclosed shoes for walking, footware for inside shed.
PRICE
To make you stay as comfortable and relaxed as possible we have a maximum of six students at the retreats. Enquire if you would like a non painting partner youd like to come.
